Pick a type, then click the map to place it.

Cabling

Click a transformer, cabinet or charger to start, click to add corners, then click the far end to finish. shift locks a leg to 45°, enter ends it loose, backspace takes back a corner.
Select it, then ctrl+drag the line to add a corner and alt+click a corner to take it out — the same two on routes, cables and trenches. Drag a white handle to move a corner or a loose end; drag a loose end onto a box to attach it. An attached end is a ring — it lives where its box lives, so move the box, or alt+click the ring to break it off.

Trenches

A trench is dug once and carries several circuits — so it is costed once, and how many cables share it is the grouping figure a sizing calculation needs. Draw it, then assign runs into it from the Cable panel.
It snaps to equipment at either end but need not start on any. Click the last point again or press enter to finish; shift locks a leg to 45°. Select it afterwards to drag its corners and ends, exactly as for a cable.
Widths and depths are common-practice starting points, not a standard — your network operator’s directive sets the real ones.

Routes

Click to lay out the route, then click the last point again or press enter to finish. shift locks a leg to 45°, backspace takes back a point.
Widths are common-practice starting points, not a standard — set the real one per route.

Click a waypoint to pick it, then del — or alt+click it in one go. ctrl+drag the line adds a waypoint where you grab it. A bay counts as one stop: deleting either of its ends takes the route back out of the bay, and no corner can go between them.

For slewed / echelon rows: rotate one bay to 45°, set direction to Custom bearing along the kerb line, and leave auto pitch on.

Assumptions

Conductor temperature sets the resistance used for ΔU — 70 °C is a reasonable working value, 90 °C is the XLPE maximum and gives the pessimistic answer. The ΔU limit is yours; the tool reports against it and does not judge compliance.
Trench €/m is the default rate for a new trench; each trench can override it. Excavation is costed per trench, once. With no trenches drawn the rate falls back to total cable metres, which is what this tool did before trenches existed — the cost report says which basis it used.
